Africa T20 Cup: history of creation
The Africa T20 Cup cricket tournament was created in 2015 with the support of Cricket South Africa. It was supposed to serve the development of cricket in South Africa. Teams from the provinces of South Africa, as well as from other African countries, such as Kenya, Namibia and Zimbabwe, competed in the competition.
The first game in the Africa T20 Cup was played in 2015. The winner of the tournament was Northerns.
At the same time, the Africa T20 Cup has its own rules for the composition of teams:
- The team must have no more than four players from professional clubs.
- At least two players under the age of 21.
- At least six colored players, including at least three Black Africans.
In 2018, the number of teams participating in the tournament was increased from 16 to 20 due to the addition of other South African teams Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Uganda and Nigeria.
In total, 6 countries compete in the Africa T20 Cup:

- Kenya – 1 team.
- Namibia – 1 team.
- Zimbabwe – 1 team.
- Uganda – 1 team.
