VVS Laxman appointed temporary head coach of the India national team

Rahul Dravid tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday. The loss of the helmsman could be a big problem for the India national team. On the eve, the BCCI announced the name of a specialist who will stand on the coaching bridge of the Indians: the head of the National Cricket Academy VVS Laxman appointed temporary head coach of the India national team for the upcoming 2022 Asia Cup.

It should be noted that Rahul Dravid did not go with the team to Zimbabwe to hold a three-match ODI series. Laxman served as a head coach already during the series with Zimbabwe.

“Mr. VVS Laxman, the head of the NCA, has been appointed temporary head coach of the India national team for the upcoming 2022 Asia Cup, which will be held in the UAE,” BCCI representatives said.

It was also noted that Rahul Dravid would join his team immediately after he tested negative for coronavirus. There is still a little time before the start of the 2022 Asia Cup, so Rahul Dravid can have time to get over and recover.
