Disney Star Corporation had won the rights to broadcast all ICC events in the Indian market
The day before, one of the International Cricket Council board members said that the Disney Star Corporation had won the rights to broadcast all ICC events in the Indian market. The company took the rights after a long and dense selection process, which began in the early summer of 2022.
It is reported that Disney Star will be the “home” for all ICC cricket in India for the next four years. The corporation has received television and digital rights to all global men’s and women’s competitions until the end of 2027.
Insiders report that Disney Star will pay about $3 billion for the rights.
According to sources, the price has increased significantly compared to the last reporting period. The reason is clear: cricket continues to evolve and find new fans worldwide.
“We are happy to continue our cooperation with Disney Star. Our connection gives an outstanding result and supports the most ambitious plans,” said Greg Barclay, Chairman of the ICC.
