Paddle sweep

Paddle sweep is a cricket term for a kind of sweep. A full-range kick in which the ball is launched towards the side by a stationary or near-stationary bat stretched horizontally towards the bowler, establishing the right angle to bounce, is what the paddle sweep is all about.

Trying to make the sweep in full amplitude is a very risky undertaking, as there is a possibility of losing balance.
