Loosener is a throw that broke at the beginning of the serve. As a rule, the concept of loosener in cricket is usually understood as an unsuccessful bowler’s serve.

Imagine a situation when the serving player is at the beginning of the throw, but in the process, the ball flies out of his hand into the air – this is the loosener.
