The LPL will be held from December 6 to December 23
Right now, Sri Lanka is going through the worst economic crisis in its history. This is because the island state’s economy cannot recover after the COVID-19 pandemic. The problematic state situation was the reason that the Sri Lanka Premier Cricket League, which was supposed to take place in August, was postponed. The day before it was officially announced: the LPL will be held from December 6 to December 23.
The official organizers of the LPL have confirmed the postponement of the Sri Lanka Premier Cricket League.
“We are pleased to announce that the LPL will be held from December 6 to December 23,” the functionaries noted.
It should be noted that the Sri Lanka national cricket team continues to conduct international confrontations. However, the Asia Cup, which was supposed to take place between August 27 and September 11, was moved from Sri Lanka to the UAE.
It is likely that closer to winter, Sri Lanka’s domestic championship will have to be postponed again. This may be because there are no ways out of the severe economic crisis yet.
