Sitter
The sitter is an extremely easy earning of the ball by a fielder. In this situation, the ball’s trajectory is so successful for the catcher that the player only needs to take a couple of steps to the side or put his hands up to catch it. This situation is usually called a sitter.
However, there is also a downside to the process. If a cricketer does not manage to catch this kind of ball, then he is incredibly demoralized, and the playback screen repeatedly demonstrates this failure. Naturally, this leads to embarrassment for the fielder, who may lose confidence in himself.
They say that a fielder who misses such an easy catch is “dropped a sitter” in professional circles.
