Kevin O’Brien announced the end of his international career
Kevin O’Brien made his ODI international debut in June 2006. After that, the Irish player managed to play three test matches, 153 ODI and 110 T20. But on the eve, Kevin O’Brien announced the end of his international career. However, Kevin had repeatedly said he would think about leaving the national team only after the T20 World Cup.
“Today, I am announcing my retirement from international cricket after 16 years on the national team. I was hoping that I would get the opportunity to play at the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. But I didn’t make to the World Championship team, so my time has come,” Kevin O’Brien stated.
Kevin also managed to note that he is not offended by the national team’s selectors for not being included in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. O’Brien is convinced that the leadership of the national team is doing everything possible for Ireland to be able to show its best game at the World Championship.
