Fine
The word fine refers to the position of a fielder during a shot in cricket. It sounds completely like a fine leg. Taking the batsman’s position as 0 degrees, the fine leg is at a 45-degree angle. The fielder is behind the batsman (over the left shoulder), beyond the 30-yard circle (between the inner and outer circles).
The fine leg is where the outfield players (especially the bowlers who recently finished their streak of overs) hope to get some rest. In truth, this is the case in reality. This is an important place to save energy. On the other hand, the fielder in the fine leg position covers most of the side. This is a very important spot if a spin bowler comes into play, as shots can be completely unpredictable. The fielder on the fine leg point may not be lucky (less rest) in such throws.
