Kane Williamson called TEST the most important format of cricket

In recent years, some cricket formats have been criticized: some players opt out of T20 or ODI. But the test format remains untouchable for most. The day before, one of the leaders of the New Zealand national team shared his opinion: Kane Williamson called TEST the most important format of cricket.

An experienced player noted that test cricket should remain the pinnacle. Williamson stated that the “romance” of red-ball cricket could not be replicated in other formats.

“The test format is the pinnacle for me personally. TEST is something special, and many people think the same way. The romance that the red ball format carries simply does not exist in other formats,” said Kane Williamson, one of the New Zealand national team leaders.

Recall that on the eve, New Zealand won the first test series match against Sri Lanka.

The second test match between New Zealand and Sri Lanka is now underway.
