India and Pakistan continue to fight for the right to host the 2023 Asian Cup

The India and Pakistan national teams are in a complicated relationship: each battle of these teams is filled with a lot of struggle and personal clashes. But the struggle of these countries is not limited only to the stadium. India and Pakistan continue to fight for the right to host the 2023 Asian Cup.

During the last meeting of the Asian Cricket Council in Bahrain, India clearly stated its position: if the tournament is held in Pakistan, the Indian team will not participate in it.

In response, the Pakistan national team promised to refuse to participate in the World Cup, which is to be held in India in 2023.

Former Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Khaled Mahmud, said that it is time for the ICC to intervene in the situation with the choice of the venue for the upcoming Asian Cup. But the expert also noted that the International Cricket Council would take the side of India, as the BCCI pays more attention to the ICC.

“The ICC should already demonstrate its real strength and “calm down” India a little. But unfortunately, the Indian Cricket Council has too much influence on the ICC,” Mahmud said.
