England Cricket Schedule 2027

The schedule for the England men’s and women’s cricket teams’ home fixtures next season has been announced. The dates have been officially confirmed by the England and Wales Cricket Board. The England Cricket Schedule 2027 features a five-Test men’s Ashes series, a multi-format Women’s Ashes series, as well as a number of ODI and T20I internationals. It is shaping up to be a packed and demanding year for England’s players.

England Cricket Schedule 2027: Men’s Showdowns

The England men’s team will come out firing at the start of the season. The players will have a chance to get their revenge on Australia and reclaim the prestigious Ashes trophy. After suffering a painful 4-1 defeat to the Australians in the previous series, England are unlikely to take another loss lying down. Fans can therefore expect a run of fiercely contested matches.

The battle for the trophy will get underway on 18 June at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, which will host the opening Test. The series will then move to Lord’s in London, Edgbaston in Birmingham and the Rose Bowl in Southampton. The teams will subsequently return to the capital for the deciding matches at The Oval, with the fifth Test scheduled to take place from 29 July to 2 August.

An interesting fact is that the Rose Bowl will host a men’s Ashes Test for the first time. Meanwhile, The Oval will continue its tradition of staging the final matches of the series.

As for the other fixtures on the England Cricket Schedule, the England men’s team will face Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand outside the Ashes series. England’s home season will begin with a five-match ODI series against Pakistan, running from 15 to 26 May. A Test match against Bangladesh will then take place at Lord’s from 28 May to 1 June. Finally, England will face New Zealand in a combination of T20I and ODI matches from 7 to 25 September. These fixtures will serve as preparation for the World Cup.

England Cricket Schedule 2027: Women’s Matches

The England women’s team also have a packed season ahead of them, with the Ashes series against Australia set to be the main event. Unlike the men’s competition, the Women’s Ashes will be played across multiple formats.

The series will open with a Test match at Headingley in Leeds from 24 to 27 June. It will be the England women’s cricket team’s first appearance at the ground in 26 years.

From the beginning of July, the players will compete in three T20I matches, one of which will take place at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester. These will be followed by three One Day Internationals. Over the course of the month, the two sides will battle it out to determine which country will be crowned the Ashes champion.

Australia are also the current holders of the Women’s Ashes. Both the England women’s and men’s teams will therefore be looking to bring the trophies back home.

The Women’s England Cricket Schedule 2027 also includes a series against Bangladesh after the end of the summer. The matches will be played in the same formats as the limited-overs games in the Ashes series: T20Is and ODIs. However, these fixtures will be held at different grounds across England.

The England and Wales Cricket Board has also confirmed that, as expected, the 2027 ICC World Test Championship Final will be held at The Oval in London from 9 to 13 June. It will be the second time in history that the ground has hosted the final.
